How to Make a Windmill Quilt Block
For a fun quilt block with lots of movement in it, take a look at the windmill pattern from Generations Quilt Patterns. It has a center that is a bit tricky, but all in all it is not a difficult block to assemble.
Depending on the color scheme used, this is a striking design. I particularly like the hot pink and white that the author used for her photos. It really packs a punch.
In the tutorial you will find measurements for 3 different sizes which is helpful if you need a particular size for a design you are working on. The method used for making the half square triangles is an easy one that produces two at a time. That makes quick work of this block. You will also find step by step instructions for assembling the block that include photographs.
