It’s a Snap Quilt Pattern

The math behind four-at-a-time flying geese starts with some specific measurements for the squares—3 7/8 or 6 3/8.

However, what if you have a stack of 4″ squares sitting there? You don’t have to trim 1/8″ off each one—that is boring! Instead, reworking the math to make flying geese lets us make geese out of the squares we have. They’ll end up as weird or peculiar sizes at the end, but that’s OK! If you’re going to sew them together, they don’t have to be of a single size, just of exactly the same size.
