rachel burke’s tinsel takeover

Pop your sun lamps, day-glo tees and vitamin D pills in the cupboard, because Rachel Burke has come up with a new way to leave winter gloominess behind: tinsel. Truth be told, the crafty lass is a fan of the shiny stuff all year round, but she’s bringing her glittery goodness to Melbourne right in time for us all to exit our cosy cold-weather cocoons.
The whole sparkly shebang is taking place at cultural hub ACMI, with a line-up of tinsel-themed events and goodies to lay your hands and peepers on. From August 31 till September 8 there’ll be a very glittery fashion show; live bedazzling; glitter-dusted bikkies and cupcakes; and the launch of Rachel’s latest book, Be Dazzling (she might even sign your book, presumably with a glittery pen). Plus, while you’re at ACMI, you can check out the whopper exhibition Wonderland, which has inspired all of Rachel’s tinsel-topped fun.
