A Guide to Strip Piecing
Without going into too much detail, strip piecing is an easy technique to sew together strips of fabric in order to use them to make other units of fabric. That’s not a great explanation, but this blog post from The Seasoned Homemaker explains it a lot better than I can.
The article takes you through the general steps of putting together a block with 16 squares in it, all from one strip pieced unit. You will also find pressing instructions. These are quite helpful as there is often a lot of bulk when a seams come together. You will also find links to a number of other examples of quilts made using strip piecing.
You will be using this handy method in no time after you read this blog post.
