Quilting Pattern – 4th of July Patriotic Flag Quilt
New Slant on Old Glory; American flag quilt, U.S. flag quilt.
This is the pattern for a pictorial herringbone quilt. It is my modern interpretation of the American flag. It is made exclusively of strips of fabric that are sewn together in a herringbone pattern. Most of the strips are of a single fabric, but many are pieced. As a big fan of scrappy quilts, I used a couple dozen red fabrics to make the red stripes on the flag, a couple dozen white fabrics to make the white stripes and “stars” and a couple dozen blue fabrics to make the blue portion of the flag. You can purchase this pattern via Etsy.
