Saint Patrick’s Day Quilted Table Runner
This project is for all of you scrap quilters who love Saint Patrick’s Day. It’s a scrappy Shamrock table runner designed by Hummingbird Highway for Bernina . It’s just stunning and it’s perfect for all of your green scraps.
Measuring 15″ x 49″, the patchwork shamrocks are added with a fusible web onto background blocks. To make this runner you will need various scraps for the leaves, low volume squares for the background, and about 1 5/8 yards for the sashing and backing.
The tutorial includes step by step instructions and photos for the entire project. In addition, because it was designed for Bernina, there is a section on what sewing machine implements where used when making it.
This is an easy runner to make. There is one extra step, removing some seams, to ensure that the shamrocks lay flat, but the designer describes the process for you.
It’s not always easy to find projects for Saint Patrick’s Day. It seems like people go right from Valentine’s Day to Easter. This table runner solves that problem.
