If you have never been over to the Tilda’s World website you really ought to take a look. There is an entire section devoted to lovely free quilt patterns, including this one entitled Swimming Geese. One look at these sweet geese swimming across the quilt is sure to put a smile on anyones face.
Originally designed to show off their fabric collection, the free downloadable pdf pattern is perfect for those of us who love scrap quilts. Each goose can be a different combination of fabrics which would give them their own unique personality.
Listed as challenging, the pattern has detailed instructions for assembling the quilt top. It is definitely not a quilt for a beginner, or even someone with a bit of experience. However the work to assemble it is well worth it. The finished quilt measures about 67 1/2″ x 78″, so it’s a nice twin size.
The way the feet of the geese are positioned really does make it look like they are swimming. So whimsical and fun!
