Creative Ideas to Design Your Own Tattoo
Making the decision to get yourself inked isn’t an easy task. There are so many elements that are involved-right from choosing a design and location to finding an artist to do the tattoo; and much, much more. So before you take the bold step of getting the tattoo, sit down and finalize the design.
Things to Consider
Your tattoo will tell a story, which will be unique where it identifies with you and your life.
Be an Artist Yourself
If you are artistic and you can draw, why don’t you consider creating your own design. Not only will it be easier, but it will also be unique. The drawback is that it can be frustrating if you are trying to get the perfect design. Hence, you may opt to look around for ideas in an online tattoo gallery. You will be able to see high quality designs which will give you the much-needed inspiration.
Be an Artist with an Artist
There are many experienced artists out there who are great at creating unique designs for tattoos. You can pick up a bunch of designs and ideas, take it to the artist, and sit with him/her to come up with a design just for yourself. With both your ideas and input, you will be able to create a design that’s your own.
Ideas to Consider
- Color: If you have liked a design, but you want to lend a touch of uniqueness to it, the best trick is to choose a different color scheme for the tattoo design. You will first have to trace out the design, add the colors, and then check for yourself if that is exactly what you want. You may not always be successful, but do not give up. Tattoos with flowers, butterflies, birds, animals, etc. adapt well to color change.
- Shape: You may not even realize it, but changing the shape of the tattoo design can make it different. You can change the overall dimensions of the tattoo, either by lengthening the overall dimensions or by reducing the size of the design. You can even opt to either add a piece to the design or leave out a piece, which can also make a huge difference.
- Location: Choosing the location of where your tattoo should be, is a big task. So keep the design in mind while you’re finalizing the location of your tattoo.
- Variation: There are numerous ways in which you can change the look of the tattoo. Like I have previously mentioned, you can add or subtract a part of the design. You can trace down designs from free online tattoo galleries and using your designing skills.
The most important part to remember is that you will have to be patient. At the same time, keep your mind and eyes open for new designs which you may come across. These designs will help you to lend the unique touch to your tattoo design.
